INCLUDEC – Training for green and circular employment

Empleaverde+ program

Includec seeks to strengthen employability and professional skills in Asturias, offering specialised training in circular economy and waste management to unemployed people with difficulties in entering the labour market. This approach not only serves to respond to the environmental and economic needs of the region, but also aligns with the broader goals of ecological transition and sustainable development.

The programme is specifically designed to train operators in a deconstruction and construction waste recycling and recovery plant, a sector with a growing demand for specialised skills due to increasing regulations and sustainability policies. It is proposed to train 17 people per edition, in three consecutive editions, selected especially for facing significant barriers to enter the labor market, adding a total of 51 beneficiaries at the end of the three editions.

The INCLUDEC project – Training for green and circular employment has the following objectives:

1.-Promote access to the labour market: Facilitate the labour insertion of unemployed people with difficulties in insertion in Asturias, especially women and other vulnerable groups, through specialised training in circular economy and waste management.

2.-Promote the circular economy and sustainability: Train participants in advanced techniques for the treatment, recycling and reuse of construction and demolition waste, in line with the policies of the European Union and Spain on sustainability.

3.-Promote equal opportunities: Include women and other priority groups (young people between 18 and 29 years old, people aged 45 or over, people with disabilities, etc.) in a sector traditionally dominated by men, promoting diversity and social inclusion.

4.-Develop technical and practical skills: Offer comprehensive training that combines theory and practice, including modules in occupational risk prevention, waste separation, innovative technologies (such as blockchain and drones), and practices in real environments.

5.-Contribute to regional development: Support the just transition in areas affected by the closure of industrial facilities, such as Langreo in Asturias, generating green employment and promoting economic reconversion towards sustainable sectors.

6.-Create networks and collaborations: Establish alliances with local institutions, companies and organizations to ensure the sustainability of the project and its long-term impact on the community.

7.-Disseminate knowledge and innovative technologies: Transfer advances in waste management and circular economy from the academic and research fields to the labor sector, improving industrial practices in the region.

8.-Comply with environmental objectives: Reduce the environmental impact of waste in Asturias, contributing to goals such as the European Green Deal and the Spanish circular economy strategy.

Includec seeks to combine vocational training, environmental sustainability and social inclusion to transform the Asturian labour market and promote greener and more resilient economic development.

With a structure made up of 370 hours of training that will be replicated in three editions, the project meets the high demand and the scarcity of specialized training in this field. Each edition of the programme includes courses designed to address both theoretical and practical aspects of the circular economy and waste management, ensuring comprehensive and applied training.

Specific modules include:

  • Prevention of occupational risks, equal opportunities and soft skills.
  • Correct separation of waste on site.
  • Innovative proposals for virtual training.
  • Real environment of the mining facilities of Asturias and Castilla y León.
  • Training in warehouse management with an innovative approach and inventory management with innovative technology.
  • Inventory management with innovative technology.
  • Field training. Internship Program.

The teaching methodology combines theory and practice, using both face-to-face and virtual formats to maximize learning and flexibility. In addition, emphasis will be placed on the creation of networks between participants and professionals in the sector, thus promoting an ecosystem of support and collaboration that enhances job placement and continuous professional development.

The training will be facilitated in the Asturian town of Langreo, and the first edition will begin in May 2025.
