All this, aimed at the priority lines of work of ‘AAP PRIMADOMUS: Combating the trafficking of exotic species’ with the aim of achieving the prohibition of exotic animals in circuses (especially big cats) and a list that regulates the private ownership of exotic animals to reduce the lack of animal welfare, risks to public health and safety and the protection of the environment and biodiversity.

Some of the actions included in this project are:

  • Optimisation of networking for the coordination of rescue actions between AAP and competent institutions (CITES and Guardia Civil) with which AAP has agreements, to optimise the management of available space. They will be based on the annual monitoring of the collaboration agreements, evaluating coordination and coordination annually and proposing improvement actions where appropriate.
  • Optimization of individual rehabilitation processes and for the formation of stable groups.
  • Optimisation of the relocation of stable groups to free up space, establishing agreements with like-minded organisations (networking), preferably national, for their safekeeping under the same conditions of well-being and ensuring their traceability.
  • Maintenance and updating of the Inventory of Specimens deposited, in the ZIMS system, with individual data.
  • Research (in case of lack of data), processing, evaluation and analysis of data from the Inventory of Deposited Specimens and the collection as a whole.
